Sometimes, Kratom trees develop leaves that are so broad and large that they resemble elephant ears. These leaves are floppy, voluminous, and chock full of Kratom’s hallmark plant alkaloids Mitragynine and 7-Hydroxymitragynine. In order for these leaves to achieve this stage of growth, the trees they grow on need a long time to mature. Therefore, our White Elephant strain takes a lot more ‘care and feeding’ in order to produce compared with other strains. To ‘lock in’ the desired alkaloid profile that makes this strain famous, the harvested Kratom leaves are dried indoors for 24 hours with their stems intact before being taken outside to dry in the sunlight for an additional 24 hours.
